Introduction
How many Wheeler Pounds might there be in this world?  I was reared in Walker County, Alabama (Parrish-Cordova area).
Bragging rights
Still going strong at 73--hiking, backpacking, building houses for my children-Since retirement I have backpacked the Grand Canyon 3 times, Alaska"s Denali (foothills of Mount McKinley) and sea kyacked Prince William"s Sound two time. I have backpacked all five nation parks in Utah, all National Parks in Washington State, Glacer and Waterton (Canadian portion), Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Yosemine, and other state and Federal parks-with some of them repeated. I have also hiked the Bankhead National Forest to the extent that i am fequently asked for information about the locale. I am a member of the Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama and have authered a book entitled THE GARDEN OF EVE--THE SECRET OF THE CHEROKEE HIDEAWAY (Available at Amazon and other suppliers) and I am working on the second book of a trilogy. Married to Judi Wasilevich Pounds and have 3 children.

Retired after 33 years with theState of Alabama, Board of pardons and Paroles with 32years,9 months of service where was the Officer In Charge of the courthouse office in Jasper,Alabama. After graduating from Harding, I worked with the Cedar Creek Church Of Christ for 4 years and the Tubbs Church of Christ for 36 years (This in addition to my state job). For a number of years I taught night classes in Criminal Justice for Faulkner University. I have also served on, and chaired, a number of boards including Red Cross, Indian Creek Youth Camp, Health Department's Home Care, Providence Water Authority-and others. I also have traveled to disasters in several states with the Red Cross Disaster team.
