The National Society of Black Engineers is the largest student run organization in the nation at over 31,000 members worldwide. NSBE strives to create an atmosphere that will cultivate successful minority engineers. NSBE was created by students at Purdue University, nicknamed the Chicago Six, under the name Black Society of Engineers in 1975. The organization has since spread and opened chapters across the world.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is a private university located in Terre Haute, IN. The school specializes in Science, Math, and Engineering. Though the school has an enrollment of approximately 1,800 students, Rose-Hulman has been ranked #1 for engineering when compared to other school's that do not offer doctorate degrees since 1999.
