Born in North Adams, Ma., home of the Mohawk Trail. I feel like I was born to help those individuals who feel "stuck" in life, those who might need encouragement and a sense of direction. I am a Certified Holistic Life Coach, a Substance Abuse Counselor, a Tutor, and a Mentor. I have 10 years experience as a Clinician and Counselor for various agencies in Vermont and New Hampshire.
I enjoyed growing up in Hanover, attended plays at the Hopkins Center, Dartmouth Hockey, Shrine Parades/Games. Once I finished hight school, I enrolled at Plymouth State College. I graduated with a B.A. in English. I worked for Loctite Luminescent Systems until a huge first layoff occurred. My son was born in 1984, and most of my focus was on him. I finally found a major I really enjoyed, Human Services. That is when I began to work as a Residential Counselor and was comfortable in this type of work. I liked Human Services and Psychology so much that I entered a Masters program in Counseling at New England College. I did my internships at Wediko Childrens Services and at Headrest, inc. I worked at Valley Vista as a Clinical Case Manager. I took a course in Life Coaching and started my business called Reach for the Stars Coaching, LLC. It was after that I received my substance abuse license from the NH Board of Licensing. I took a reprieve from my business for a while to work as a Clinician for a while. I began to think about going back into business for myself again. Its all about new beginnings for me, and proof that anyone can do it! Now if only the economy would improve. I am a role-model, very determined. I've got to keep reaching, just like I ask of my clients to do. I have the motivation, I persevere at whatever I do. I added on mentoring and tutoring to my business when life coaching and counseling was slow. I am semi-retired but I do part time and per diem work now.
