Rowena Whaling
Lives in Nashville, TN

Rowena was born 'in a trunk' so to speak - as her parents were theatricals and traveled internationally for most of every year while she was a child.  Then, at 14, she moved to New Orleans and lived in the French Quarter (the heartbeat of everything) where she was forever stamped by the sounds and flavors of the city that care forgot.  Laissez les Bon Temps Roule!

While being operatically trained as a coloratura soprano, she also learned to sing the jazz and New Orleans rock which surrounded her.

Then off to New York with the intent of joining one of the opera companies, where she instead fell in with pop record label folks - producers, engineers and great songwriters - who inspired her to begin writing songs of her own, which should have been no surprise to her as she had been writing her own poems, short stories and songs since she was six years old...

After a short stint in Memphis, she arrived in Nashville, where she calls an enchanting Victorian house with a magical garden her home.  That is there where she celebrates her spirituality as a witch and High Priestess of the Craft.  In addition to completing the soon-to-be released CD "Book Of Shadows" and having an incredibly talented band (whose members she loves), she is an author for print and screen - having written a film musical "New Orleans 1967", co-written a Ballet/Operetta - "Alekzandr and Aloyosha" and has just completed a historical/fiction Dark Ages novel (the first of a trilogy).

She and her band LOVE performing on stage!  They have spent many hard worked hours perfecting their craft, much to the enjoyment of their audiences.  Along with playing festivals and special engagements, Rowena of the Glen lights up the clubs in the Nashville area.
